Cut The Curtains, The Actors Have Gone Home.

Fri Apr 10, 2009, 8:01 PM
I've been adventuring, and trying many new experiences. The comfort zone I once knew is in the distant past. In the dark, frigid, Albertan winter, I spent two and a half weeks backpacking across Costa Rica. I ended up seeing all seven provinces, had a few bumpy rides, and I met some awesome people from every corner of the planet along the way. And of course, I've got the stories to prove it!

Since then, I've been working two part time jobs, and staying very busy in a small town outside the city of Calgary. It's interesting not having my best friend a short bus ride across town, and my family to fall back on when I'm short on groceries. What an experience it all has been. I must keep reminding myself that all work and no play makes a boring loser at the end of the day, and enjoy the gorgeous sunshine that is sprinkling over our snowy lanes for the short while.

I don't know where I'm going next, the daily phone calls from home are pulling me back west. But my gut hasn't decided where it truly wants to eat. Maybe some Thai? Escargo? Maybe just a little south across the border.. it's hard to say, when I am such a flighty spirit. Attempting to make a five year plan is more of a rough draft with undefined borders. Schooling should fit in and around there somewhere most definitely. Every day I think of another neat career... Feng Shui designer.. Kindergarten teacher..

Speaking of education, I have been learning how to use oils in a couple landscape painting classes here in town. It was lovely to have tea with the range of middle aged to elderly ladies, and see what their amazing minds and hands could come up with! I also donated a painting to charity recently. I was excited to give a contribution in a fun, and different form other than sand-dollars!

Just because I have no new posts, doesn't mean all those creative juices have stopped flowing. The inner procrastinator in me is tickling my toes, but perhaps I'll get around to uploading some of my random writing, and a couple more paintings.

And dear reader, don't forget to smile, and make somebody's day.

May peace and love be with you always!
